Screwed Up Priorities

The New York Slimes ran its first front page editorial ever since 1920, calling for a ban on assault weapons and ammunition in the name of reasonableness against outrage.   The reasoning of the rag's editorial board seems to be that these weapons put people at risk of their being misused and "enough is enough."

It is not worth the pecking to disabuse gun control advocates of their illogic.   Because they are illogical no amount of reasoning will make a dent into the rock-like matter of their crania.    But it is worth pointing out that if the Slimes is going to fulminate broadside on its front page it really ought to fulminate against a risk -- actually a known and certain eventuality -- that will affect all of humanity and every living thing.
